Buyer's remorse is a common affliction amongst many owners of old properties. Alas, for all their charm there is no denying that they are a bit of a gamble and to save the headache it would be wiser to invest in a luxury, modern home such as those on offer at Kings Hill, near West Malling in Kent. Some of us however allow ourselves to get sucked in by period features of these family homes that whisper sweet nothings into our ears and prevent us from thinking straight. Unfortunately, when we move into an old-fashioned family home and gradually become better acquainted with the property, we realise it cannot offer us the lifestyle living we dreamed of. The things that made us fall in love with it, when we believed it to be the perfect lifetime home, become the things that we hate; we realise that the Georgian cornices are caked in paint, we can't quite shake the feeling that the defunct fireplaces are in fact soot-gathering space-wasters rather than treasured testimonies of a bygone era, the supposedly romantic, wild garden takes up so much time we decide to shell out on an easy to manage landscape garden, and the once-appealing sash windows only serve to remind us that we're spending half of our annual income on central heating, so we begin to crave a more modern, energy-efficient home like a Kings Hill property. Older properties are selfish lovers that require much Tender Loving Care and give little in return. Therefore, before taking the plunge we should consider the benefits modern homes can offer, the perfect examples of which can be seen at our Kings Hill properties.
Owners of luxury, modern homes enjoy mutual and loving relationships with their properties, they are not slaves to their homes, their modern homes service them. Now, I would like to share with you the sweet nothings that the modern home whispers in my ear:
A modern home for the modern family
To paraphrase Bob Dylan, times are changing. The needs of the modern family are different to those of yesteryear, they now want a luxury homes that offer lifestyle living. Modern, family homes are designed with the modern family in mind i.e with multipurpose open-plan layout. This enables members of the family to be together whilst pursuing different activities, e.g one may cook whilst the other lounges and watches TV (not that I advocate such disparity in the delegation of household chores) and they often have beautifully laid out landscape gardens for the whole family to enjoy.
What lies beneath When you buy a modern home you can rest assured that the plumbing and electrical systems are in tip-top condition. Replacing old lead-piping can be a real headache and often not one that you bargained for when you invested in your old-fashioned, family home. Lifestyle living How nice it is to know that you don't have to spend every weekend from now till kingdom come updating your modern home! Enjoy your new found freedom, the shackles of fascia-boards-in-need-of-replacement are off your feet, now dance and revel in your Kings Hill property! Energy-efficient homes Whilst the sheer joy of knowing we're doing our bit for the environment through sustainable living is reason enough to buy a modern home, some of us are more persuaded to buy energy-efficient homes due to the amount of money it could save us on our bills. Whatever your reasoning, you'll be delighted to know that luxury, modern homes install the latest insulation and energy saving devices and are therefore up to four times as energy-efficient as older properties. Landscape gardens No more wrestling with ragwort, our landscape gardens at the Kings Hill homes, near West Malling in Kent, are designed with lifestyle living in mind. We know that you want low-maintenance and that's what we offer. Each landscape garden is individually designed to complement its adjoining contemporary home and you can tend to it as much or as little as you decide. Safety first Familiar with the adage 'safe as houses'? Well it should be 'as safe as modern houses', you read it here first. Modern homes come with higher levels of security, with window locks and British Standard 5 lever locks to main doors. Some builders either pre-wire for a burglar alarm system to be fitted to the modern home, or fit one as standard. In addition, modern homes feature secure double glazed windows, fire resistant materials, circuit breakers and smoke alarms. These measures can help reduce house and contents insurance as well as keeping you all safe in your family home.
Up to date technology
Technology is there to make our lives easier so why soldier on without it? Our modern homes near West Malling in Kent are fitted with the latest appliances from fitted kitchens to complex wiring systems for home entertainment, so just sit back, relax and enjoy the mod-cons your modern home of the future offers you.
No chain
No need to worry about upward chains, as soon as your modern home is ready you can move straight in and start enjoying your lifetime home. Prêt à vivre, as the French might say.
